Federal funding for student employment was up in the Kootenay-Columbia riding this year.
MP Wayne Stetski says the Canada Summer Jobs Initiative put about 175 students to work.
Stetski set priorities for the region including support for projects in tourism, arts, and the environment.
He assigned grants to non-profits as well as small businesses.
