Ministry officials tour Kootenay Lake schools

Some senior Ministry of Education officials have looked at the Kootenay Lake school district’s capital needs.

They toured Salmo and Nelson schools this month and reviewed the district’s facilities plan.

Secretary-treasurer Kim Morris says it’s too soon to tell what will come of it but it seemed positive.

The district wants to add on to Salmo secondary and Blewett elementary and rebuild South Nelson.

They’re also seeking funds to put an elevator in Nelson’s Central school.
