Paramedic petition succeeds in Creston, but fails overall

A petition meant to give ambulance paramedics the same collective bargaining rights as police officers and firefighters has failed.

But Kootenay West proponent Billie Padavel says they did well in our region.

The 10% mark was achieved in 26 of BC’s 85 electoral districts.

But the petition failed in a number of lower mainland ridings.

It had over 215,000 signatures altogether.
