Mobile juicer for Creston Valley on the way

Hiring is underway for a crew to operate the Creston Valley’s new mobile juicer.

The equipment is expected to arriveĀ June 7.

Laura Francis with Kootenay Employment Services says it’ll be available to farmers and community groups.

Another goal is to reduce food waste.

Seven farms have already committed to pressing different kinds of fruits and vegetables.

Francis says AĀ five-person crew is being hired to operate the press.

Job postings for a manager, two operators, and two summer students can be found on the Kootenay Employment Services job board and at kes.bc.ca.
