Search for Crawford Bay teacher ‘unusual’

A Nelson Search and Rescue spokesman says the effort to find a missing Crawford Bay teacher was very unusual.

Chris Armstrong says normally they wouldn’t ask community volunteers to help.

About 60 community members were involved in looking for Alvin Dunic over the weekend.

But despite their efforts and those of many search and rescue technicians they found no sign of him.

The search has been suspended but Armstrong says they’ll continue to watch Crawford Creek.

It’s suspected Dunic may have fallen in.
