Preliminary enrollment in the Kootenay Lake school district appears to be up.
As of Friday the district had a full-time equivalent of 4,770 students. That’s 16 more than projected.
The biggest increases are in the Creston Valley.
Erickson elementary is at capacity and unable to add any more students.
However district staff say the head count always fluctuates in the first month.
Sept. 30 is the key date for determining funding.
