Mobile juicer worth its weight in cherry juice

In its first year the Creston Valley’s mobile juicer diverted 180-thousand pounds of cherries from the landfill. That was pressed into 27,000 litres of juice.

Regional district director and Fields Forward supporter Tanya Wall says it can handle even more.

The equipment arrived in June and is available to farmers and community groups.

In addition to cherries they can juice apples and will start experimenting with beets.

They’ll be pressing more fruit next month at the Creston and Crawford Bay fall fairs.
