In light of possible flying embers from the Stickpin wildfire Christina Lake Fire Chief Ken Gresley-Jones says his crews have set up high volume water pumping stations across the affected area and there is stand-by power generation available.
As for those sprinkler protection units he says they create a strong humid mist over multiple properties and are very effective.
He recalls a fire storm near Cranbrook some years ago where it came within 4 feet of a protected property and there was no damage at all.
