Distracted driving crashes are an increasing problem on BC roads.
The Society Against Distracted Driving is bringing awareness about that to the Kootenays.
Bruce Smith, a SADD spokesperson and Auxilary RCMP constable, says drivers have to be more aware.
SADD will be going around to schools in the East Kootenay in the new year.
Distracted driving ticket penalties are set to increase in March 2018.
