The southern most parts of Grand Forks and Christina Lake remain on Evacuation Alert” and wait to see the potential effects of an increase in fire activity on the Stickpin blaze south of the border.
The risk of flying embers are the key concern as the winds pick up Thursday.
Following another series of public meetings in the communities Wednesday night the RDKB’s Information Officer Deep Sidhu says their biggest message is all about the “five p’s.”
He says local fire departments will be patrolling those areas currently under evacuation alert and special crews will be ready with sprinkler protection units .
These units are capable of watering scores of properties at a time.
