Water pressure in Erickson should improve in the coming weeks.
Two parts of the water system, the Arrow Creek main line and open water reservoir, have been replaced.
According to utility services manager Jason McDiarmid, replacing these components will improve water pressure, and make the water system more reliable.
He says it will also eliminate some of the health risks caused by the old system.
The old main line was built in 1929 and needed constant repair.
McDairmid says there is one more step before the full project is finished, a small reservoir near the water treatment plant.
The improvements to the Erickson Water System infrastructure began in 2008. The Regional District of Central Kootenay is projecting the work will be done in the spring of 2018.
The Erickson Boil Water Notice that has been in effect since October 20 is now lifted.
