Interior health has a new heart health education program in creston
It was launched last month and assists in after care for patients with chronic heart disease.
The program involves video conference sessions educating patients on things like exercise guidelines, stress management, risk factors, medication, diet and the heart’s anatomy.
Program Coordinator Jacqueline Gabelhouse says they’re hoping to expand in the new year.
She says Creston has some health education programs but few based on heart health.
The program has been launched in ten different rural communities including Grand Forks and Trail.
