The decision to make face masks mandatory in the BC Junior B hockey league has one Creston Valley coach confused.
Thundercats Assistant Coach Jeff Wagner says it came as a surprise.
He says he understands it will reduce facial injury but thinks it will cause more reckless playing.
Full face protection will be mandatory in the 2017-18 season.
