Changes to Inter-community business license bylaw and regional fire service

The Town of Creston has renewed its regional fire service agreement with the Regional District of Central Kootenay.

Director of Finance Services Steffan Klassen says the renewal has a few changes.

He says area directors will be invited to any budget meetings where fire services are discussed and budget overages for the fire service will be shared from one year to the next.

In other council news, Salmo has been added to the Creston inter-community business license bylaw.

Klassen says the town has now amended the bylaw to make it easier for other communities to participate.

The bylaw allows small businesses to operate in different small communities around the Kootenays.
