Creston Fire Service saw a jump in calls over the last year

Calls for service went up around 20% across the board.

Fire chief Mike Moore says the increase would be unusual if it was just one type of call.

There was also an increase in vehicle accidents in the Creston area last month.

Creston Fire Service responded to 16 accidents in December compared to two in November.

Moore says he saw more multi-vehicle accidents than usual.

 

Calls for the year went up from 508 in 2016 to 648 in 2017.
