Wildsight BC looking for feedback on proposed changes to trapping regulations

Wildsight BC wants more information about certain species before the province decides on trapping regulations.

The province is proposing to open access closures to motorized use for trappers in several areas, and shortening the wolverine and lynx trapping season.

Eddie petryshyn with wildsight says they’d like to see the elimation of the wolverine trapping season.

He says they don’t know enough about numbers in the West Kootenays.

Petryshyn also says they support shortening of the lynx trapping season.

The public is able to send feedback about the proposed regulations directly to the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operation and .
