Creston RCMP received variety of calls last week

Creston RCMP responded to 37 calls for assistance last week.

On Wednesday they received a report about an online scam involving a rental property in Creston.

The house was owned by other people that were unaware of the scam.

Later that day police investigated two separate incidents of hit and runs in local business parking lots.

On Friday police responded to a call of an attempted break and enter of a business and a vehicle stolen in Yahk.

Police located an abandoned vehicle in the vicinity that had been stolen out of Alberta.

RCMP are saying the suspects abandoned the stolen Alberta vehicle and stole the one in Yahk – they’re still investigating.

On Saturday police stopped a vehicle for speeding twice in one day on Highway 3.

The second stop was for travelling 145 km/hr in a 100 km zone which resulted in a seven day vehicle impound.

Later that day police attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in Creston.

The driver sped away driving through town in a dangerous manner including going up onto a sidewalk.

RCMP located the driver at a residence – the suspect was arrested for dangerous driving and fleeing from police.
