CBT invests $400,000 for poverty reduction

The Columbia Basin Trust will invest over $400,000 towards four projects meant to tackle poverty.

Manager of delivery of services Tim Hicks says three of them our in our region.

This includes $150,000 for the Nelson Social Planning Action Network.

The Xtunaxa Nation Council gets $25,000 to develop a social enterprise to offer long term and reliable employment for those with special needs.

Trail’s skills centre is also getting a funding injection.

Their’s is worth $125,000 to help boost a number of their services.

The CBT is also funding a project in Golden.
