Balfour ferry upgrades have some East Shore residents concerned

East shore residents say they feel under-represented in the Balfour ferry upgrade discussions.

Don Gamble, a Gray Creek resident, says Kootenay Bay residents are more dependent on the ferry for transportation.

He says the initial plan to move the ferry to Queens Bay would have been more beneficial because it cuts travel time.

The Ministry of Transportation is in the second round of the consultation process for ferry upgrades.

They decided to upgrade the Balfour landing rather than move the landing to Queens Bay in November.

Gamble, along with a few other east shore residents, have sent letters to the Ministry expressing their concerns.
