The College of the Rockies is offering a new program to coincide with cannabis legalisation.
The Cannabis Retail Specialist Program‘s first intake is May 13th. It’s an online, 26 week course administered by the Creston campus. It will also involve a 40-hour practicum component.
Campus manager Kim Garety says it’s not designed for someone wanting to open a business but the information is valuable for everyone.
The course offers information on the botany and growth cycle of cannabis, human physiology, existing regulations in Canada, medical components as outlined by Health Canada, and species and strain characteristics. Garety says it also focuses on customer service training.
She adds they already have a lot of interest and are even processing some applications.
