Creston residents made the trip to Nelson on Tuesday to protest the closure of the Creston Education Centre.
They started in front of the Nelson SD8 building before proceeding to the courthouse. Afterwards they attended the school board’s monthly meeting.
CEC stakeholder committee member Nancy Devuono says they’re hoping for more of a delay.
Community members have been resisting the closure since it was proposed in 2016. Devuono says everyone understands finances are a factor but wants the board to look elsewhere to save money.
