The Regional District of Central Kootenay is changing their 911 call/answer and dispatch service provider.
The board approved changing their provider from the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary to the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George and the City of Kelowna.
CAO Stuart Horn says it will save money in the long run.
The contract with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George will affect fire halls in the Creston Valley including Wynndel and Canyon-Lister. The rest of the District will be serviced by Kelowna.
The annual cost for the contract with Fraser-Fort George is $85, 635.
