The Ministry of Transportation will be starting some work on Canyon Street soon. Mayor Ron Toyota says it may cause some inconveniences in the downtown.
He says the work will make it safer for pedestrians who currently have to cross the street on uneven pavement caused by heavy truck traffic.
Mayor Toyota also says the Town of Creston also has some work planned.
The contract for the micro-surfacing was awarded to West-Can Seal Coating for $345,000. Potions of local streets where work will be happening include Hillside Street, 20th Ave. North, 8th Ave. South, 11th Ave. South, Cedar Street and 20th Avenue South, as well as several other smaller sections around Town.
