The Columbia Basin Trust has announced they are the new owners of Creston’s wooden grain elevators. Wayne Lundeberg is a strategic advisor with the CBT. He says they wanted to help preserve the important pieces of history.
Lundeberg says they’ll start with a new roof and windows right away and eventually hope to find some new uses for the buildings.
The building where the Kunze Art Gallery is located was also part of the sale. The gallery will remain as a tenant.
Creston’s grain elevators are two of four left in the province and are over 80 years old.
