ASC Committee discusses referendum process

The Referendum process for a new Fire Hall in Creston was discussed at last week’s Advisory Select Committee Meeting. The Town of Creston would create a question and Bylaw with final approval given by the Province. The referendum would then have to be held within 80 days.

If approved another committee would be formed to look at design, tendering, and construction. If the referendum fails the current fire hall would remain for the foreseeable future. The consequences on staff and services are unknown.

The ASC will be taking a break over the summer, however a tentative meeting is scheduled for July 18th.
