Less call for emergency services

The numbers are in. But do they tell the whole story?
According to Acting fire chief Jared Riel, 53 requests for emergency staff were made last august. That is a steep drop off from the 85 incidents reported same time last year.
Riel explains why this might be.
“BC Ambulance has changed their response model, and there has been a reduction in other municipalities’ first-responder medical calls.”
Riel assures the Town of Creston that patient care is the number his priority and will continue to look at the statistics in order to make sure there are no gaps in service. Other municipalities report a decrease in calls, which is indicative of the new ambulance call system’s effect on the allocation of phone calls to offices.
