Jimmy Karountzos aims to win a seat on Creston’s Town Council this election.
Karountzos owns and operates a few businesses in Creston, however he says now he’ll have more time to focus on the community.
In terms of growth, Karountzos says he doesn’t see drastic change in the immediate future.
“You’re not going to see big changes happening in Creston… having facilities with fifty to a hundred people working in them. We should be lucky with what we have right now, try to maintain everything and promote ourselves for whatever we can attract. I’m always in favour of that.”
With his experience in revamping old businesses and constructing new developments, Karountzos has an interesting take on the fire hall solution.
“If it was my business I would try to build the old fire hall, expand it because I’m really good at removing walls and building new walls. I don’t think that will be the case here. I’m going to look into it a little more but we are probably going to need a new building.”
Karountzos says it’s ultimately up to the citizens of Creston to move forward or not on the borrowing referendum and will act on the wishes of those who vote.
Creston decides on whether or not he earns a seat on council October 20th.
