Rural Area C Director Candidate: Tony Mulder

Tony Mulder moved to the Creston Valley community in 1973 and now he want to serve as Director in Rural Area C.
Though he took a brief hiatus in order to complete his education, according to Mulder the Valley called him back.
Mulder says both work and play in the Valley is the key for growth. He expresses that being Director means working closely with the town of Creston since many aspects of life are shared between both communities.
“We need to work together because we all use the services of the recreational centre, we all use the services of the library, we all use the services of the dump… But we all have specific needs when it comes to taxation like, you know, in regards to the fire department.”
Ultimately, Mulder says it’s his concern for the Valley that inspires him to run for Director. Mulder says he aims to work with the tax base and ensure people are informed on how their tax dollars are being spent.
He says he has seen success during his time in minor hockey, dealing with officials province-wide and having brought the provincials to his hometown.
Mulder joked with the mycrestonnow.com newsroom that if he can work with hockey parents, he can work with anybody.
Equipped with his experience as president of the Downtown Business Association, head of minor hockey and member of the Fire Hall Advisory Select Committee, Mulder says he is prepared should he win this election.
