Money for rural Basin broadband

Thousands of residents in our region will get improvements to high speed internet access in the next few years.

This after nearly $2.3 million in provincial funding was announced for the Columbia Basin Broadband Corporation.

COO Amy Ambrosone says the money is to help non-profit and for-profit service providers because the cost for the infrastructure is high.

The funding will expand the fibre optic network and improve wireless internet between towers and homes in order to provide up to 5 mbps download speeds.
