The cost of a possible deer cull in Grand Forks may have become a lot cheaper for taxpayers.
The province will offer $100,000 a year to communities who need help for a cull when dealing with the dangers of ever-increasing urban deer populations.
The city’s Deer Committee Chair Gary Smith says their proposal for a cull wouldn’t be cheap.
It’s hoped the province would go 50-50 on the costs.
Grand Forks council has approved the request for the cull permit but has yet to give the final go ahead.
