Police received 54 calls for assistance from November 6th to November 13th, 2018.

November 6, 2018

  • Police began an investigation into a neighbour dispute involving threats.
  • Police responded to a landlord/tenant dispute
  • A report of a suspicious vehicle turned out to be a mechanical issue.
  • Acting on information provided by another jurisdiction, Creston RCMP located a male in Creston suspected of breaching parole conditions. Upon arrest, the suspect was searched and was found to be in possession of what was believed to be heroin and cocaine. The suspect was remanded to a correctional centre by a justice.

November 7, 2018

  • Police assisted in a dispute between two individuals under the care of social aid.
  • Police were called to a report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival – due to alcohol consumption – it was unclear as to what the true account of the situation was.
  • Called to intervene in a landlord/tenant disturbance.

November 8, 2018

  • Police began an investigation into an assault involving a child.
  • Police were called to intervene in a fight involving a large number of youth in Creston. Upon arrival the consensual fight between school youth was over.
  • Police intervened in an argument over returned tools to keep the peace.

November 9, 2018

  • Report of damage to a Creston business overnight resulting from a suspect throwing eggs.
  • A single vehicle collision South of Yahk was the result of the driver travelling too fast for road conditions.
  • Police investigated mischief to a vehicle suspected to have been caused by an ex-partner.
  • Police responded to a report of loose dogs entering a property and killing chickens in Erickson. The owner of the dogs arrived and offered to replace the chickens.
  • Police attended a neighbour dispute in Erickson where it was reported that one neighbour dug a trench on another’s property.
  • Police were called to assist CBSA officers at Rykerts with a suspected impaired driver. The drinking driver was issued a 24 hour licence suspension.

November 10, 2018

  • A vehicle reported stolen from Creston was recovered in Moyie.

November 11, 2018

  • Police were called to investigate an assault reported to have occurred at a party overnight.
  • Report of a break, enter and theft to a business in Boswell.
  • A vehicle stop for an unregistered vehicle resulted in the drinking driver receiving a 24 hour driving suspension, and tickets for no driver’s licence and unregistered vehicle.
  • A vehicle stop in Wynndel resulted in the unlicensed drinking driver receiving a 3 day driving prohibition and having his vehicle seized for 7 days.

November 12, 2018

  • Police investigated a possible stalking by an ex-partner in Yahk. Upon investigation, no stalking occurred.Police responded to a distraught female who believed that two males might be after her. Police attended and found no evidence that the woman was in any danger.
