Police received 50 calls for assistance from November 13th to November 20th, 2018.

November 13, 2018

  • Called by a concerned citizen about the controlled burn on Mount Thompson.
  • Called to investigate a suspicious person soliciting door to door. The person was found to be a legitimate salesperson.

November 14, 2018

  • Called to investigate a suspicious occurrence in which the door to a residence was open with no one inside. No crime was found to have occurred.
  • Called to assist in locating an overdue person who was late returning from bowling. The person was found safe at a friend’s.
  • Called again regarding the suspicious salesperson.
  • Intervened in threatening texts between youth.
  • Called to a bylaw noise complaint.

November 15, 2018

  • Report of a break and enter to a residence. Found to be unsubstantiated and may involve health issues.
  • Report of a hit an run on Canyon Street.

November 16, 2018

  • Report of theft at a Creston business by two youth. Police found the youth and appeared to be a prank.
  • Report of intoxicated youth at a Creston business.
  • Called to a large party at the Lister Park.

November 17, 2018

  • Report on a highly intoxicated patron outside a business in Creston. The male was escorted to police cells to sober up.
  • Called to a theft of an ipod during a children’s sleepover. Ipod returned the next day.
  • Called to a fight at a residence at the Lower Kootenay Band. Combatants had departed upon police arrival.
  • Called to a concern over children’s well being with an intoxicated parent. Appropriate resources were engaged to ensure the safety of the children.
  • A vehicle stop for a licence check resulted in the drinking driver receiving a 3 day licence suspension.

November 18, 2018

  • Responded to an upset youth threatening to burn down a relative’s house. Appropriate resources were engaged to assist the family.
  • Called to a loud party in Creston.

November 19, 2018

  • Report of a hit and run to a house in Creston. Driver impairment a possible cause. The police were unable to locate the suspect.
  • Called to assist EMS with an upset senior.
  • Intervened in a parent/ child dispute in Creston.
  • Called to assist in locating a person believed to be in danger. Person located without incident.

November 20, 2018

  • Called to a vehicle collision with an elk near Kitchener.
