Rossland to cut street light wastage

Does Rossland have too many street lights and is that wasting taxpayer dollars?

City council has approved moving forward with a plan to consider the removal of some mid-block street lights and others considered unnecessary on certain corners.

Here’s councillor Andrew Zwicker.

Rossland spends $65,000 a year  on energy costs for lighting.

The hope is savings made from shutting down some lights could fund newer money-saving LED replacements elsewhere.
