Local land in Nature Conservancy deal

Two properties in our area that have ecological significance have been acquired by the Nature Conservancy of Canada.

They are among the 26 overall that were dealt by The Land Conservancy of BC to help them reduce their debt.

One is the 101 acre Laux property on Lower Arrow Lake and the other is the 78 acre Woods Family property near Syringa Park.

Here’s Tom Swan with the Nature Conservancy.

Some of the 26 properties involved in the deal will be transferred to The Nature Trust.

Those details are still being worked out.
