Police received 40 calls for assistance from December 11th to December 18th, 2018.

 

December 11, 2018

  • Began an investigation into a hit and run on Canyon Street. No people were injured.
  • Assisted in keeping the peace while an ex-partner removed belongings.

December 12, 2018

  • Report of an abduction and assault. Investigation involved and on-going.
  • Report of a breach of a no contact order.

December 13, 2018

  • Report of a possible impaired driver in Kitchener. Police patrols were negative.
  • Report of a break and enter to a property in Wynndel.
  • Received numerous reports of mail thefts in Creston and Lister. Suspects identified.
  • Suspicious person investigated in Yahk.
  • Report of a theft from a vehicle on Canyon Street.

December 14, 2018

  • Report of harassment between ex-partners.
  • Report of a breach of a no contact order.

December 15, 2018

  • Report of shots heard in Erickson.

December 16, 2018

  • Investigated the taking of a vehicle without the consent of the owner.

December 17, 2018

  • Report of possible drug dealing at a residence.
  • Assisted Kingsgate CBSA and Taber RCMP with the arrest of an offender with active warrants.
  • Attended a domestic argument in Erickson. No assault or violence.

 

The Creston RCMP continues to investigate the report of abduction and sexual assault of a local female. The extensive investigation includes Cranbrook RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Section, and numerous other RCMP support sections in District Headquarters in Kelowna and Division Headquarters in Surrey. Investigations of this nature rely heavily on witness accounts and public information in order to build enough evidence to identify and locate a suspect.
