Police received 43 calls for assistance from January 22nd to January 29th, 2019.

 

January 22, 2019

  • Received a complaint of explicit material being mailed to a senior. Material was advertising from an adult entertainment site.
  • Intervened in a domestic disturbance in Erickson. No assault or injury reported.
  • Called to a disturbance in Creston in which an unwanted guest was throwing rocks at windows and attempting to gain entry into a home to sleep. The intoxicated guest was provided shelter for the night in police cells.

January 23, 2019

  • Called regarding harassment over an unpaid debt.
  • Assisted probation monitoring in investigating a subject on probation who breached his electronic monitoring device.

January 24, 2019     

  • Called to assist with a report of an ammonia leak in Creston.
  • Report of an intercepted e-money transfer that did not get to the intended recipient.
  • Report of a theft of a coat from a residence in Creston.
  • Called to domestic assault in Creston. The suspect was charged and held for a hearing by a justice.

January 25, 2019

  • Report of a person screaming outside in Lister. Police patrols did not locate anyone in distress.
  • Report of harassment stemming from a previous on-going dispute.
  • Report of a person receiving a fraudulent cheque in the mail.
  • Intervened in a neighbour dispute over loud noises in Erickson.
  • Assisted with a youth in distress by taking him to family for support.

January 26, 2019

  • Report of on line harassment stemming from a fraud involving a person believing he was communicating with a celebrity while exchanging pictures and money. Advised caller to report to anti-fraud centre.
  • Called to investigate a theft and a threat of extortion with personal photos stemming from a disagreement over payment for “personal” services.
  • Report of a theft of a wallet from a vehicle.
  • Report of yelling outside a residence in Erikson. Police patrols could not locate anyone in distress.
  • Called to assist a resident with a broken water pipe.

January 27, 2019

  • A report of a suspicious vehicle in Canyon turned out to be broken down and awaiting recovery from the owner.
  • Called to assist a family member in locating a person suspected of abusing narcotics. Subject was found an put in touch with family.

January 28, 2019

  • Opened investigation on a suspect who failed to attend court as required by law.
