Police received 62 calls for assistance from February 26th to March 5th, 2019.

 

February 26, 2019

  • Report of harassment from an ex-partner over child support.
  • Report of a break and enter to a utilities yard in Creston. Associated to the break and enter to the business in Wynndel.
  • Attended to a disturbance at a group home.
  • Report of a cheque used under false pretenses to a local business.
  • Report of slander via social media over a civil dispute. Parties advised that issues are a civil matter and not police related.
  • Report of a highly intoxicated male “frolicking” in the middle of the road on Highway 21. The male was not located by police.

February 27, 2019

  • Investigated a complaint of mischief involving slashed tired in Erickson. One suspect identified.
  • Report of a disturbance at a local business involving a billing dispute.
  • Attended to a family dispute in Creston.
  • Received a call of a disturbance at a residence involving a dispute between ex-partners over possessions.
  • Received another report over an on-going neighbor dispute in Erickson.

February 28, 2019

  • Received a report of unwanted harassing vacation sales calls. Complainant advised to report to anti fraud centre.
  • Report of a person acting erratically walking down Highway 3 near Erickson. Police had interacted with the person earlier, and no safety concerns were found.
  • Report of a disturbance at a residence in Creston stemming from relationship issues.

March 1, 2019

  • Report of a customer causing a disturbance at a local business. Police attended and located an individual well known to police. The subject left without further issues.
  • Began an investigation into a report of suspicious activity at a residence possibly supplying intoxicants to minors.
  • Report of harassment over social media stemming from an on-going neighbor dispute.

March 2, 2019

  • Began an investigation into a break and enter into a residence in Creston in which a vehicle and a cell phone were stolen. Police have identified a suspect in the theft, and are currently working on the investigation.
  • Police attempted to stop a vehicle in Creston that appeared to be unregistered. The driver fled from police, and the vehicle was located a short time after. Police identified the driver and he was arrested close to the scene. Charges are pending.
  • Called to a domestic disturbance involving alcohol. No violence but parties were separated to avoid further issues.
  • A drinking driver was involved in a single vehicle collision on Highway 3A in which the driver suffered serious injury. Investigation and charges are pending.

March 3, 2019

  • Responded to a landlord tenant dispute where an assault was reported.
  • Report of a suspicious vehicle on Kootenay Pass. Appeared to be tourists recreating in the area.
  • Report of an assault at a residence stemming from an ex-partner harassing tenants in an attempt to contact the other ex-partner. Charges are being considered.
  • A vehicle stop stemming from a known unlicensed driver resulted in the driver being charged and having his vehicle impounded.

March 4, 2019

  • Called to a domestic disturbance. No violence noted. Uncooperative parties separated to keep the peace.
  • Police attended to a call of an intoxicated male walking his dog in Creston. The male was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant when located by police.

March 5, 2019

  • Called to check on the well being of a person in Wynndel. No issues found.
