Police received 48 calls for assistance from March 5th to March 12, 2019.

 

March 5, 2019

  • Report of harassment stemming from the complainant being whistled at by a person driving by in a truck. The complainant felt that he was being harassed with the whistling.
  • Third party report of an assault. The victim would not cooperate with the police.
  • Called to a suspicious person at a business in Creston. The subject was found eating cookies and waiting for a friend.  

March 6, 2019

  • Investigated a complaint of assault. Appeared that alcohol was involved making it unclear who actually started the fight.
  • Report of a disturbance and threats at a business in Creston. The subject of the complaint left without incident.
  • Attended a landlord tenant dispute.
  • Report of harassing communications between ex-partners.
  • After a suspicious person complaint, police located a suspect who had an arrest warrant and also was on probation. The suspect was breaching the conditions of his probation at the time. The suspect was arrested and held in police cells for a justice hearing.

March 7, 2019

  • Called to a disturbance in which an ex-partner was upset that belongings were being put in the front yard of the residence. Police attended to keep the peace.
  • Report of mischief to mailboxes.
  • Report of mischief to data in which an ex-partner was possibly accessing emails.
  • A report of suspicious people with an axe in Erickson was found to be a group of boys on a camp out.

March 8, 2019

  • Report of a shoplifting at a Creston business.
  • Report of a pedestrian threatening a homeowner over barking dogs.
  • A delivery driver reported a threat by a tenant after he went to the wrong address.

March 9, 2019

  • Report of an assault occurring at a protest. Police investigated but found that none had taken place.

March 10, 2019

  • Responded to a family disturbance to keep the peace.
  • Began an investigation into a report of animal cruelty in which a cat was was killed by an unknown person.
  • A subject was arrested after his parole was revoked.
  • A curfew check of a person on an undertaking resulted in the arrest of the subject after breaching conditions.

March 11, 2019

  • Report of harassment and slander on social media by an ex-partner.
  • Report of a suspicious person walking on Highway 21.
  • Report of a suspicious person possibly stealing snow shovels in Creston.
