Police received 116 calls for assistance from March 12th to March 26th, 2019.

 

March 12, 2019

  • Report of theft from an ATM after the victim left her card in the machine unknowingly.
  • Report of an unwanted guest repeatedly attending a residence while intoxicated.
  • Report of a suspicious male returning to a business after being asked to leave in Creston.
  • Called to an assault with a weapon in progress. When police attended, it was clear that no assault was taking place. Police suspect the call was a prank constituting the offence of Public Mischief.
  • Called to a neighbor dispute in Erickson involving aggressive dogs.

March 13, 2019

  • Report of a disturbance at a clinic in Creston that had taken place earlier. The suspect may have been suffering from mental health issues.
  • Called to an on going neighbour dispute in Erickson.
  • Report of harassing texts from a disgruntled ex-employee.
  • Report of a theft which turned out to be an item was misplaced by the owner.
  • Police executed a warrant for a bail violation to a Creston resident.

March 14, 2019

  • Report of mischief to property turned out to be electrical contractors clearing a right-of-way
  • A driver with no tail lights was stopped on Erickson Road. As the driver had been drinking, his licence was suspended for 3 days.

March 15, 2019

  • A domestic argument resulted in one partner throwing belongings out of a moving vehicle.
  • Report of a break, enter and theft to a local business in Creston. Investigation on-going.
  • Report of harassing communications an threats between co-workers.
  • Called regarding threats made over text.
  • Report of suspicious youth outside of a school in Creston.
  • Report of mischief to a vehicle at a business in Creston in which a tire was slashed.

March 16, 2019

  • Called to a family disturbance in which an assault was reported.
  • Report of general threats made over social media. The poster was spoken to about choice of language.
  • Report of shots fired near Erickson. No criminal activity was found.

March 17, 2019

  • Investigated a house fire in Lister. No one was injured, but the structure was lost.
  • A concern over posts on social media resulted in a suspect being arrested and charged for uttering threats.
  • A report of a suspicious person taking pictures of people’s property turned out to be a resident who was dealing with an unsightly property complaint.
  • Report of a theft from a residence. The owner believed that it may have been a tenant.

March 18, 2019

  • Investigated a report of harassment stemming from an unwillingness to accept romantic gestures not accepted.

March 19, 2019

  • Called regarding a broken window that appeared to have been caused by a pellet gun. Neighbor youth took responsibility and reimbursement pending.
  • Report of a person making lewd remarks to passers by outside a residence. Police looking into the matter.
  • Investigated a house fire in Lister. No injuries but structural damage.
  • Report of a theft of a tractor in Erickson.
  • Report of obtaining prescriptions through fraud.
  • Called to a family disturbance in which a child damaged property.

March 20, 2019

  • Report of threatening language over social media.
  • Investigated a theft and mischief to a local business after a group of youth stole a table and chair and threw them in a nearby ditch.
  • Report of a scam over a personal networking site.

March 21, 2019

  • Report of harassing texts between ex-partners.
  • Report of harassment from a current partner’s ex-wife.
  • A trailer an snow machines stolen from the Revelstoke area was located in Wynndel.
  • Report of harassing communications over social media after romantic advances turned down.
  • Report of a theft of snow machine parts at a residence in Creston.

March 22, 2019

  • A report of a fraud over on-line “personal” services that were not provided was referred to civil court as it was a contract between parties.
  • Report of stolen cannabis and smoking apparatus from a residence.

March 23, 2019

  • A drinking driver who did not have permission to be driving a work vehicle received a 90 day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded. Further charges are being investigated.
  • Attended to a domestic assault. Charges are pending.
  • Responded to complaint of an erratic male harassing and threatening people at a local business in Creston. Upon police arrival, the male became aggressive, threatened and assaulted an officer. The male was arrested and transported to police cells. Charges are pending.

March 24, 2019

  • A call of an erratic driver on an ATV in Lister led police to stop another vehicle in which it was found that the drinking driver was not licenced to drive as well as driving intoxicated. Also, the driver was on probation with the condition to not posses or consume alcohol. The driver received a 90 day licence suspension, a charge of breach probation, and a ticket fro driving without a licence. The vehicle was also impounded for 7 days.
  • Report of a break and enter to an unoccupied residence in Lister.

March 25, 2019

  • Report of harassing communications between ex-partners.
  • Report of harassment over social media regarding the complainant’s criminal history.
  • Report of a disturbance between campers over an ATV in Yahk.
