Police received 55 calls for assistance from April 2 to April 9, 2019.

 

April 2, 2019

  • Called to a family dispute over an unwanted guest.
  • A vehicle stop for a known prohibited driver resulted in the drug impaired driver being charged with numerous charges.
  • Responded to a request for a restraining order stemming from harassing Facebook messages.
  • A vehicle stop for a traffic offence resulted in the drug impaired driver being charged and suspended from driving.
  • Report of a theft from a vehicle in Arrow Creek.

April 3, 2019

  • Report of a theft from a vehicle in Creston.
  • A call to a single vehicle collision in Moyie in which the driver continued westbound resulted in the drinking driver’s licence being suspended for 90 days.
  • Called to a disturbance in Creston which was the result of two drivers arguing.

April 4, 2019

  • Report of mischief to a vehicle in which an attempt was made to remove a wheel.  
  • Report of a suspicious person attempting to borrow money from seniors.
  • Called to a neighbour complaint involving the feeding of crows.
  • Called to assist Fire Rescue with a fire in Wynndel.

April 5, 2019

  • Called to assist RCMP Headquarters with investigating threats made to the Prime Minister. Email threats were received by the Prime Minister’s office from a local resident. The suspect was arrested, investigated, and released pending court.
  • Called to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm in Yahk. No parties injured.

April 6, 2019

  • Called to assist with a family dispute.
  • Called to assist Fire Services with a suspicious fire outside a business in Creston. It appeared a single youth lit a bag of books on fire in the parking lot. No persons were hurt or property damage caused.
  • A disturbance in Lister resulted in an intoxicated person being held in police cells until sober.
  • A concerned citizen called regarding an impaired driver leaving Creston. Patrols were made but no impaired driver was located.

April 7, 2019

  • Report of numerous mail boxes broken into in Boswell.
  • Called to assist with a domestic disagreement over property and access to children.
  • Attended to a disturbance between neighbours threatening to beat each other up.

April 8, 2019

  • Called to a suspicious person with a shovel attending residences in Creston and attempting to enter stating he was afraid for his life. Investigation revealed the suspect was intoxicated by drugs. No one was harmed nor was property damaged.
  • Called to assist Kelowna Parole Services in arresting a subject who had his parole revoked.
  • Intervened in a family dispute that had become violent.
  • A call to a suspicious person at a rural vacation property turned out to be a contractor working on the residence.
  • Called to a suspicious fire at a business in Creston. Cause still under investigation.
