Area C Director Casemore joins AKBLG Executive

The Executive Committee for the Association of Kootenay and Boundary Local Governments (AKBLG) got reshuffled over the weekend.

Three new members were elected including Fernie Mayor Ange Qualizza , Kaslo Councillor Rob Lang and Area C Director Adam Casemore. Casmore says a second vote was needed to fill the seats.

“It was a three-way tie for the second and third position for Director at large so we had to have another election. I was the front runner for that and the second was Rob Lang”

Casemore says his new position will allow for his constituency to have a stronger voice.

“I’m able to carry the voice of the constituency directly to the Executive and to the membership and reiterate how important some of the issues directly affect Area C,” Says Casemore. “It’s an honour and privilege to be elected by my peers to carry on the good work of the previous executive.”

According to Creston Mayor Ron Toyota’s report, he and Councillors Ellen Tzakis, Jim Elford, Arnold Deboon and Karen Unruh also attended the AKBLG event.
