Permanent housing for pickers considered

The ongoing issue of housing options for migrant workers in the Creston Valley may see a solution.

Traditionally, during fruit picking season, makeshift camp sites pop up at the Goat River Bridge and other locations with no proper facilities.

RDCK Director, Tanya Wall says areas B,C and the Town of Creston are working together.

She says the development of a multi-use site is being considered.

Wall says it would also likely have a kitchen, laundry facilities and washrooms.

The group is now looking into funding options through the provincial government.
