Creston Fire Hall meeting invites locals to participate

Creston Valley residents are invited to attend the Fire Hall Technical Building Advisory Committee meeting, May 30 at 4:00 pm in Council Chambers.

FireWise Consultant Ernie Polsom says he wants to get the community involved.

“The other side of this which can’t be overstated is the discussion around how do we continue to talk to the community? How do we continue to make sure that they’re aware of what’s going on and have the chance to provide their input? That continues to be really important.”

The committee will discuss the partnerships being formed for the project, the Cook Street site land acquisition and other project updates.

“We’re going to talk about some interesting stuff like environmental goals that the community has for the facility. Where does the Town and residents see energy conservation, physical appearance, things like that.”

According to Polsom the committee has decided to move forward with existing plans and will make amendments to the original design to keep up with changing building codes.

There will also be a 30 minute question and answer period with the project’s professional advisors at the end of the meeting.
