RCMP arrest man tied to fentanyl and weapons found in Creston

On June 4, 2019 Creston RCMP executed a Search Warrant on 1227 Northwest Blvd in Creston.

12.3 grams of fentanyl, approximately 4 thousand dollars in cash proceeds of crime, and numerous restricted and prohibited firearms were found. 47 year old Claude Donald Lefebvre of Creston was arrested yesterday in Crawford Bay on an outstanding arrest warrant.

He is currently in custody facing numerous drug and weapons charges stemming from the search.

According to the BC Coroners service, 58 suspected illicit drug toxicity deaths with fentanyl were detected in May 2019.  83 % of illicit drug deaths in 2019 are due to fentanyl in BC. That’s a steep rise from 4% back in 2012.

Staff Sergeant Ryan Currie shared the Creston RCMP press release on July 11 saying, “The drug trade fuels organized crime which leads to other criminal activity in our communities. The Creston RCMP is committed in combatting the illicit drug trade and organized crime in order to keep Creston safe.”
