New elk warning signs for West Creston

Elk warning signs for motorists are about to get much bigger and brighter in the West Creston area.

RDCK Director for Area C, Larry Binks says new ones will be going up soon on Highway 3.

The new 4′ X 8′ signs are bright and will light up when hit by headlights.

Binks says the number of vehicle and transport truck collisions with elk are under-reported and lead to the dispatch or direct death of 10 to 12 of the animals a year.
