Info session upcoming for solar garden project

The city of Nelson’s community solar garden project is nearing reality.

An array of between 50 and 100 kilowatts is planned at the Nelson Hydro Bonnington location.

EcoSave Program Coordinatior Carmen Proctor says there will soon be an information session on exactly how the public can buy into the project.

The project will feature a minimum of 200 solar panels that can be bought individually.

So if 150 are sold it will go ahead.

Each panel will cost no more than $923 and the public can buy up to ten of them.

In return they’ll get a solar credit on their Nelson hydro bill over a 25 year contract.
