Kootenay Lake School District has partly clarified how its $2.3 million surplus will be spent.
Secretary-Treasurer, Kim Morris says the majority of it was previously earmarked .
About $745, 000 is left over, which the board had initially thought would be allocated to staffing.
But Morris says a decline in enrolment has decreased their operating grant so the extra money may be used to balance out the budget.
The issue will be back on the agenda at the November 10th meeting.
