Pedestrian safety issues at Warfield school

A call for improved safety at the crosswalk near Warfield’s Webster Elementary School.

A group of parents and village officials recently met to discuss the matter.

Some of the key topics were stopping drivers from using cell phones, running red lights and speeding through school zones.

Here’s village councilor Brett Rakuson.

Some of the solutions discussed include adding a proper four-way stop light, or narrowing the approach with a bump or meridian.

Rakuson says the group plans to take the discussion to BC’s Ministry of Transportation.
