Late rain boosts levels for dry October

A late run of rainfall helped boost yet another dry month in what has already been a very dry year.

Our South East Fire Centre Weather Office reports we had 76% of normal precipitation in October.

But things were sitting at just 15% going into the last week before a pacific system dumped 33.5mm.

The mean temperature for last month was 2.5 degrees warmer than average .

That breaks the previous record set just last year.
