The Kootenay Gallery of Art, History and Science have asked for help from Castlegar city council.
They are hoping to relocate and have requested funding to hire a consultant who can conduct a feasibility study.
This would determine the best possible location.
Val Field, Tthe Gallery’s Executive Director, says they want to remain in Castlegar.
She says there will have to be additional funding as a relocation is quite a big project.
She adds there is overwhelming public support to move the gallery from it’s current location near the airport.
